Marketing Communications Specialist

Group Benefits, Ltd., a national insurance and wellness brokerage based in Urbandale, Iowa, has an immediate opening for a Marketing Communications Specialist. This is a full-time, entry-level position.

Role Description:

The Marketing Communications Specialist is a member of the marketing department and will support the communications functions of several business units. The Marketing Communications Specialist will be responsible for:

• Copywriting and editing marketing collateral, email communications, newsletters, and web content.
• Updating website content.
• Supporting social media strategy creation, site upkeep, and content generation.
• Assisting with internal and external communication strategy.
• Recording and editing video for web use.
• Limited graphic design projects.
• Assisting with event planning and coordination.

• Ability to work independently.
• Creativity.
• Excellent time management skills.
• An ambitious and enthusiastic attitude.
• Basic graphic design abilities.
• Photography and web design skills are a plus.

Computer Skills Preferred:

• Familiarity with a Mac OS
• Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite (specifically InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator)
• Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS web coding.

Required Education:

• Undergraduate degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Media Studies, Marketing, or similar programs.
• As this is an entry-level position, great for recent graduates.
